I am amazed Garmin is partnering with this app. I tried to use it, wasn’t able to save a daily diary although in some areas it congratulates for saving it while in fact the button for saving is still active and data is not saved nor transferred to Garmin. The type of portions are strange... 1 cup of potato ... seriously or 1/8th of lbs ... how about 20 grams?! Or perhaps 1 medium sized potato or anything that resembles real life. While trying to get my head around it, I lost 21% battery in half an hour on a new Iphone 11. This app should not exist.
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS!!! THEY WILL HARASS YOU EVERYDAY!! I have unsubscribed from their emails 15+ times and they continue to email me non-stop everyday. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS!!!

Using MyFitnessPal has been essential and great in tracking my calories and exercise. The app offers access to a wide variety of search results with exact macros and details regarding the food. The app runs very smooth, and even gives you educated estimates of weight gain/loss based on the amounts you track. Overall great experience using the app.
Cannot often log in - they are too busy. The annoying thing is now they tell me my password or email address are wrong. They are not, according to my computer! In addition, this app does not track Fitbit exercise details well, if at all. Last, but by no means least, there is no way one can include a recipe that is homemade within another recipe: for example, I make my own yogurt and use this often in other recipes. (Myfit have suggested a way round this but it doesn't work.)
I had the app for a couple weeks before deciding to try out the free trial. What an absolute scam. You barely get any new features even when you have to pay, and the calorie counting is completely off. Furthermore, when I went to cancel it sent me to iTunes which I hadn't used in probably 5 years. It was a pain in the ass to get my password recovered. Why the hell wouldn't you be able to cancel within the app? I'll tell you why. Because they want to make it as complicated as possible. I hate that. Do yourself a favor and just use the free version.
Who the hell feeds (haha) this site with information? There are so many wildly different and contrasting calorie descriptions for the same foods and beverages...I think the site itself needs a serious diet! Work off all that excess data!
This is a good way of tracking what you eat, but don't rely on the accuracy of the nutritional elements. Even using the bar code option it's completely wrong e.g 1.8 g of salt per 100g was translated as 2.4mg of sodium! !!! It should be 720 . Not a lot of use if you're watching salt intake.
It's the same with every other element, so too inaccurate to use for dieting.

Didnt see anything beneficial with the premium plan, if you are looking for weight loss/ maintenance, I would recommend stick to the free plan or try the 30 day free trial. In my opinion, it is a waste of money
The site and the app are pretty useful on everyday life. I`m not believing all the various programmes out there, but comparing them makes a result.
Have been using this app on and off for roughly ten years now and in general find it quite good.
I agree with many of the other reviewers that frequently the nutritional value information is incorrect. However that's down to the actual app users entering wrong information. It's easy enough to correct it though, even if it is frustrating. What I really don't understand is why, in the UK anyway, practically everything has salt rather than sodium content listed, yet the app requires sodium values. I need to keep an eye on my sodium levels and therefore have ended up correcting practically every food listed which I use. Why is it so difficult for people to convert grams of salt to mg of sodium? Salt in grams divided by 2.5 and then multiply by 1000 equals mg of sodium.
Would also be nice if, having entered a "recipe", that a nice easy single click could convert it to a "food". I frequently cook a couple or more "recipes" which I then combine to make a further "recipe"or "food". The hard work is entering the data!!
Have noticed recently, that having spent ages entering the ingredients for a "recipe" the app then fails to save it. This is extremely frustrating, especially if it's one that contains many ingredients.
Overall though, I am happy with the app, must be having used it for so long, and would recommend it. Any data should be checked and rechecked, but most can't be bothered to do that and chose instead to blame the application for users' errors.
I see today that my credit card was charged for 1 year of Premium plan. I did not receive any kind of notice MyFitnessPal was going to charge for a pre-paid year. It's a scam because there is no Customer Service phone number or email account I can contact to find out what is happening. I tried to remove the option for auto-renewal on my credit card and now it appears I have cancelled my account, but can not get a refund. What kind of company is this anyway?
On the back of a premium trial, I ended up paying 3 years of a premium subscription which was done through google pay so it didn't show on my banking app. Having not accessed the basic app in a good 9 months never mind the premium add-ons I recently went back to under armour, where I was told I am not eligible for a refund as my subscription was outside of the 60 day window. At no point in the 3 yrs was I contacted by them to notify me that my premium subscription was renewing or my inactivity queried. I would advise all check your subscriptions in case you are unknowingly paying out for something you don't use.
Step trackers you can add are limited, it won't connect to my Smart Bracelet.
MyFitnessPal Questions & Answers

It's a legitimate company which, if they made only a few small but salient improvements in the service, would be providing something genuinely valuable.

Not really, the application didn't contribute to my success, in fact I am seeing success because I'm choosing to ignore what the app is telling me.

I chose MyFitnessPal because they're integrated into Garmin and I could use Apple to pay for the service.
